Gas Food Lodging-1992

Gas Food Lodging-1992

Spent so long looking for this link and was well worth the wait. Most of my favourite movies are road movies like (Dennis Hopper films) 'Out of the Blue' or southern films like 'Desert Blue' 1998 where gas stations motels desert roads and weird story plots tend to develop and then your still left wondering. Thats my of my favourite genres anyway warped, road, southern movies and family conflict maybe ill make one day just like it.

Starring a young Ioan Skye and one of my favourites Fairuza Balk where could you go wrong, cowboys, androgynous crushes, teen pregnancy and British guys who like rocks yes rocks then this is the film for you. Set in New Mexico two sisters and there single mother who waitresses all day are raised in a trailer park Shade played by Balk dreams about her favourite movie star Elvira and hopes to find her mother a boyfriend and Trudi who gets up to know good but you later discover why hidden in dark and unsettling and sad past events why she acts this way. With many amazing characters sets and dialogue this film is a winner winner chicken dinner for me 10/10.

Female director Allison Anders is known for other notorious (such sick) films such as 'Mi Vida Loca' and 'Four Rooms' two of my many favourites of her. Not enough credit for her early films with many female heroines that are not only relatable but sassy in attitude and style.

Allison also casted Jacob Vargas in both films who was, I think personally one of the best characters in 'Gas food and Lodging' playing Javier.

P.S: Hamlet is also one of my favourite quirky characters
