Little Odessa

Little Odessa 1994

James Gray was only 25 when he made his first feature film 'Little Odessa' theres something about his films that create new classics the past with the present I really like his style usually familiar settings and familiar dysfunctional family settings and good boys gone bad and unexpected endings Im really getting into his films lately discovering the few but amazing films he has made and anticipating his new film 'The Lost City of Z'.

Little Odessa has Tim Roth and Edward Furlong two of my favourite actors who play brothers (I have loads) and is an unsettling tale of  family feuds and corrupt people of Brighton Beach NY.

I think personally the most unsettling and upsetting story of the film is their mother dying and their pig of a father who could honestly couldn't care any less because he's a slimy creep. While the mothers dying he's useless and theres a really upsetting scene staring Tim and his mother kind of saying goodbye for the last time.
