Arizona Dream 1992

Arizona Dream 1992

Director: Emir Kusturica

Cast: Johnny Depp, Lili Taylor, Vincent Gallo, Jerry Lewis and Faye Dunaway

Plot: A young man in new york who happens to be a fisherman has a reoccurring dream about eskimos and  tragic accident, in reality his cousin wants him to return to Arizona for his uncles wedding he's reluctant because he knows his uncle will persuade him to work selling cadilacs for the rest of his life like him. Whilst there he meets an young girl and her mother who he falls for a warped web of romance death and whimsical reality.

This is one of them films where the cast is incredible the dialogue is hilarious the setting is beautiful and overall its a alchemy of madness and magic. I love that its set in Arizona and the sky is always seen melting beautiful behind the actors or scenery, the props are just funny and quirky.

Im usually not a crazy Johnny Depp fan its not that i dislike the transformations he has in every film he's in its just nice to see the actor raw and simple and their facial expressions pressed upon the screen and 'Whats eating Gilbert Grape' is one of my favourite performances of his and this one too because he's just so funny in this but yet complex.

Lili Taylor is one of my favourite actresses I love her in 'Dogfight' with River Pheonix and 'Mystic Pizza' duh..

Vincent Gallo is increbile everything is does is comical and genius and Faye Dunaway, I just imagine for the era in which she chose her films it must have been just a leap of faith she had in the characters she chose she must have known herself and what she wanted from the beginning like 'ChinaTown' which is such a warped and wild film and so inspirational for many film makers today.
