The Mudge Boy

'The Mudge boy'

Starring a young Emile Hirsh this 2003 film revolves around his character Duncan Mudge, after the death of his mother and how he copes with her gone. Duncan is called Mudge or known as chicken boy by most of the towns teens who taunt and bully him because he carries his mothers favourite chicken around with him in his bikes basket. He meets a farm boy named Perry who finds Mudge a strange character and aware of his attraction towards him. Perry frequently is grotesque about his sexual encounters with girls in front of Duncan who seems uncomfortable.

Throughout the film Perry begins being sexually violent towards Duncan. Duncan is gay and has feelings towards Perry. Duncan doesn't consent to most of the things Perry suddenly throws upon him aggressively but his character believes that's what he deserves after his mothers death. The film is very sad and at times pretty uncomfortable with a sudden rape scene and an awkward scene such as the chickens head in Duncan's mouth simulating giving head while Perry watches. I believe the film was based upon one of the short stories 'Fishbelly White' in the 1998 'Boys life 5'. It also starred Ryan Donowho from 'Bringing Rain' and who starred in a other film with Emile Hirsh 'Imaginary Heroes'.
