'The Last of the Summer high Kings'

'Summer Fling' 1996

The film starring young Jared Leto actually aged twenty four, plays a seventeen year old. His character Frankie Griffin and is set in Dublin, Ireland with his luminous blue eyes and jet black hair your bound to fall for him in this film. The film revolves around Frankie and his anxious wait till exam results day. He is in love with two girls and wants to throw a beach party to get to know them. His big family all are very eccentric and his father being a travelling actor and his mother the head of the house hold who is pretty hysterical and played by the talented Catherine O'Hara . Christina Ricci also co-starring in the film but only briefly mostly just swooning over Frankie and giving him guidance with her outrageous character. I found it very relatable because I am Frankie's age right now and at the pivotal segment of my exam semester and feel to I will fail but unlike Frankie does I believe I will. Jared Leto's Irish accent was superb.

The American title for the film is 'Summer Fling' much shorter but I prefer the original. Looking at the the VHS cover you wouldn't predict it to be how it really is Christina Ricci is hardly in it and there isn't really a summer fling at all. My favourite character throughout the film was Frankie's younger brother,  he suffered a brain injury when younger and his mind will forever stay the age he is at now (about seven) and he's really loving and in one scene is really hilariously swaying to music in the kitchen. The film wasn't amazing but it was a easy film to watch
